The LMT SOPMOD buttstock is the preferred stock for USSOCOM Soldiers hence its name. A brief look around the industry tells me Im not quite alone in my preference. This buttstock is crafted from a durable polymer and provides a number of outstanding features which include.
Their stock is at a significantly lower price point. Once the stock is on the receiver extension then release the adjustment lever to allow the stock to fully engage with the receiver extension. Apparently surplus B5 stocks can be found for about 68 retail which is a lot more expensive than what the government is paying go ahead and buy 25000 and you will also get a discount but a fraction of the cost of a genuine LMT stock.
The B5 is not molded as good as the LMT the structural ridges are shorter you can see in the photo without me pointing them out but thicknesses are different in several areas. Another detail that separates the two is that the metal hardware on the B5 are color matched while the rubber buttpad seems to be the same between the two manufacturers. Both meet the US government specifications for the SOPMOD stock.
The LMT SOPMOD is the standard for the SOPMOD style stocks Ive used the B5 SOPMOD stock and the fit is just not there as compared to the LMT so I chose LMT for the quality and LaRue Tactical because they have what I need when I need it at a fair price. It locks up very well on the stock. Engineered for optimal performance the Bravo stock is the lightest most effective design of its kind.

While many prefer a thinner stock for my shooting style and the way I mount the gun I am a still a huge fan of the Enhanced SOPMOD stock. Currently employed by the US. 89versus the 199 charged by LMT.
An official pick of the US. Very stable adjustable stock option. Comfort isnt a luxury.
